MISTY II & ROVER

As a forward-thinking Matriculation School in coimbatore, we emphasize experiential learning and skill-based education through our well-established Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL). The lab provides students with exposure to advanced technologies such as Misty II, a humanoid robot, and MITI, an outdoor rover robot, which are generally available only at higher education institutions. These advanced robotic systems were graciously gifted by our distinguished alumnus, Dr. Prasad Duraisamy, as a gesture of gratitude to the institution that shaped his foundational learning.

The Atal Tinkering Lab serves as an innovation and research-oriented learning space where students engage in hands-on exploration of robotics, artificial intelligence, automation, and design thinking, in alignment with the Matriculation curriculum and 21st-century skill development. The program is further strengthened through collaboration with IEEE, offering students exposure to professional standards, technical workshops, and conference-based learning experiences.

Through Misty II, students learn core concepts such as human–robot interaction, voice and facial recognition, autonomous decision-making, and applied artificial intelligence. The humanoid robot enables students to work on interactive projects that enhance problem-solving ability, creativity, and communication skills.

The MITI Rover Robot introduces students to mobile robotics, navigation systems, sensor integration, and environment-based automation. By designing obstacle courses and real-time problem-solving scenarios, students gain practical experience in robotics mobility and data-driven decision-making. The rover robot encourages analytical thinking, innovation, and teamwork, bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.

Through the integration of ATL-based learning, IEEE collaboration, and advanced robotics, our Matriculation School provides a strong foundation in STEM education, preparing students for higher studies, research orientation, and future careers in science and technology.
